Kermit
An early morning video shoot that started around 6:30am and went for nearly three hours. The video picks up right in the middle of a good soaking rain with slow distance thunder every now and again. Nice to have a secret visitor come by the camera and say hello to Kermit.
Back story on Kermit-
When I was a little boy, our lake had many bull frogs. You know, the really big ones. As a six year old, I'd love to listen to them all night long and catch them by day. The down side is they are a food source for the big Northern Pike and Musky fish in our lake. Well, by the time I was 10, them seemed to be all gone. So my Mom would get these rocks and stack them up to make stone figures that looked like frogs. We would call the Kermit and wife, and then give the children ones names. (Remember, this was long before the Internet and as kids, we played outside 14 hours a day and used our imaginations.)
Over the years, the smaller frog figures broke down, got moved, or got destroyed by piles of snow from the snow plows. But, KERMIT LIVES!
So in honor of my Mom, her creative thoughts and endless love, I thought I'd video tape and share with you, some simple stones that are more than just stones to me. They represent warm memories, which I shared with my kids and now looking forward to sharing with my grandkids.
